Challenge
Build a Common Understanding of Trust and Its Role in Leadership
- The leadership team needed a shared language for understanding trust and the behaviors that strengthen it in day-to-day interactions.
- A 37-question trust diagnostic provided an aggregate view, creating a fact-based starting point for discussion.
Strengthen Feedback Capability and Leadership Dialogue
- Leaders needed to connect trust concepts to everyday conversations, including peer, coaching, upward, and downward feedback.
- There was a need for practical frameworks to make feedback more specific, neutral, empathetic, and timely.
Intensive 1-Day Trust & Feedback Workshop
Day 1: Trust and Feedback
Approach
Highly interactive, practice-driven training session featuring:
Shared Reflection and Evidence: Participants reflected on their own understanding of trust before reviewing aggregate diagnostic themes and identifying the leadership behaviors that would strengthen dialogue.
Interactive, Framework-Based Application: The session balanced conceptual grounding with practical application. Participants practiced using SBI, STAR, and GROW in relevant leadership situations and explored questions that clarify intent versus impact.
Realistic Role-Play: Participants rehearsed peer, coaching, upward, and downward feedback conversations. Scenarios addressed common leadership challenges such as interrupting, offering solutions too quickly, delayed feedback, generalizing, emotional delivery, and receiving candid feedback despite seniority.
